Re: PDC World Championships
I don't mind Taylor but agree he doesn't do himself any favours with what he says at times. I think sometimes he tries to say or do the right thing to look likeable and it comes across as cringe worthy and uncomfortable but I don't think the Taylor fest was entirely his doing last night. Clearly Sky are going to do a tribute to a player who was winning tournaments before Alex Ferguson won an FA Cup and you would have to ask him but I don't think Cross minded at all and even asked Taylor to come over to have pictures taken with the trophy. So Taylor was on a hiding to nothing really. If he walks off stage sharpish allowing Cross the attention people would have said he was a miserable loser shooting off whereas do what he did it looks like he is milking it, although as I say he doesn't do himself any favours at times.

From a darts perspective though I thought that might happen because Taylor just doesn't score heavily consistently enough anymore and had his luck with others missing doubles in previous matches. Cross though was unbelievable, not only scoring heavily, but hitting doubles and big check outs. To do that in any final let alone his first world final in Taylors last match shows incredible mental strength, absolutely unbelievable, and he never had a major lull in the match like so many do, he just kept battering Taylor.

He could be top of the tree for years this fella or will disappear within the year!!!!!

I always found Colin MONK quite fascinating to watch.

Re: PDC World Championships
Used to go to the darts regularly up until about 10 years ago. To be fair, Taylor ruined many a night for me due to being so dominant. I remember being up at Blackpool for the Match Play final back in 2007 I think and he wiped the floor with Priestley and it was all over by 8.45. I have been privileged to watch the greatest darts player of all time but he was so far ahead of everyone else it was actually quite boring at times. I was very disappointed to see he become this self loving putrid pile of bullsh!t as he is undoubtedly one of the greatest sportsman in his field ever but that is for others to say, not him, as he repeatedly has. Glad he has retired, he has done so much for that sport it is untrue and he deserves all the accolades that come his way but not just to give them to himself. Time for the new breed and Rob Cross has done something pretty special to win that this year.

watch that Down bloke, I'm sure the Karate Kid director took inspiration from his throwing style

Re: PDC World Championships
Fucking hell Justin Pipe. Might have the most annoying throw in darts. There are a few players I find excruciating to watch throw.

Pipe is one, Suljuvic is another. There are a couple of others but off the top of my head i can't remember who. Most of them are the slow ones though.

Dennis Smith. Weird: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aR5pR5tR1bw

Pipe throws like a bender.

Priestley used to wind me up, but at least he was pretty decent with it.

Re: PDC World Championships
anyone who thinks Pipe is a slow player should watch this, bloke was an abattoir worker called Terry Down and he made JP look like Van De Vort. I remember watching it live on itv, Jockey wasn't happy :.)

How dare you!

As a sportsman, what he’s done has been unreal. As a person, he’s an awful sack of attention seeking shit.

Re: PDC World Championships
Call me intuitive! But your not a fan of Taylor are you Pagey?

Pagey 10:18 Tue Jan 2
Re: PDC World Championships
He wasn’t gracious in defeat at all.

Predictably made it about him by saying that the new champion Rob Cross “reminds me of myself” and also said afterwards that he has “no interest any more in beating Van Gerwen or Cross”. Yeah, course you haven’t mate! Why bother turning up for the final then you prick?

Quite gracious in defeat is Taylor and then talking about his career and retirement, comes across as what he is, a decent bloke who speaks his mind, granted he comes across as an arrogant cock at times.

Interesting comments on social media and the stick/threats/cuntings he gets, as he says, this is grown men doing this? LOL

Oh, and predicts MVG and Cross will dominate the sport for the next few years

Re: PDC World Championships
I think 10 players is too much for the Premier League. Whitlock sneaked in because he made a final. There weren’t many strong contenders for that last place. Van den bergh hasn’t done that much except the youth championship. Kyle Anderson was another possibility. Adrian Lewis, Wade and Chizzy have been poor.

The sky/taylor wankfest still going on.
That other smirking cunt with the lazy eye in the studio just cum his cocoa at the thought of the munchkin as a pundit.

Hats off to Rob Cross! Superb display.

Can only assume Whitlock is in due to the World Grand Prix final?

Van den Bergh deserves a chance. Whitlock is disappointing.

Congratulations to Cross, this reminds me of Joe Johnson beating Steve Davis at the Crucible although Cross is obviously a far greater Darts player than Johnson was a Snooker player.
